Iranian Citizen!

Is it prohibited for Iranian nationals (who are living in Iran) to apply for EB-5 program?

Is there any discrimination on Iranian Citizens in this program?

See www.eb-5center.com/OFAC_Iranian for prohibition against Iranian EB-5 investors using certain prohibited banks.

The EB-5 Program does not prohibit Iranian nationals from applying under EB-5. However, an EB-5 case submitted by an Iranian national will probably be reviewed more "thoroughly" for security-related and lawful source of funds requirements. In the event the home country has currency transfer restrictions, then the lawful source documents must be carefully reviewed to see if they are solid enough to pass the careful scrutiny of USCIS examiners.

Also, for Iranian EB-5 cases, the politics may play a role and make it tougher for their EB-5 cases to get approved. It's ironic because the most effective policy that the U.S. can take to liberalize Iran is to treat the Iranian EB-5 investors just like EB-5 investors from other countries. Anyway, the result of the recent Iranian elections will not help the matter.

Lastly, any foreign nationals should also ascertain if there are any restrictions imposed by their own home countries against emigrating to the United States, including foreign currency wire restrictions and issuing immigrant passports, etc.
