Interesting facts disclosed during the Stakeholders meeting with USCIS in Wash D.C.

During this February 27th 2009 Stakeholders meeting with USCIS officials, following information was disclosed:

  • There are now 16 trained EB-5 adjudicators at CSC.
  • USCIS reported that EB-5 petitions filed through regional centers account for 91% of all EB-5 petitions that are filed with USCIS. This clearly demonstrates the importance of the regional center aspect of the EB-5 program. Basically, without Regional Center EB-5 cases, there is no EB-5 Program.
  • From October 2008 through January 2009, 221 I-526 petitions have been approved and 30 have been denied. During the same period, 43 I-829s have been approved, while 11 have been denied. [RC cases compose over 90% of all EB-5 cases filed, but we believe a majority of the denied I-829 cases involve non-RC EB-5 cases, although we cannot be certain.] This confirms our previous statements in the past that we believe RC EB-5 cases compose most of filed EB-5 cases and that majority of filed RC applications are being approved.
  • As of February 2009, CSC has 424 pending I-526 cases and 466 pending I-829 cases.
  • As of February 2009, TSC has 130 pending I-526 cases and 46 pending I-829 cases.

The above info again shows that RC EB-5 Program is beginning to set some track records in both I-526 and I-829. Although we do not know how long this RC EB-5 Program will continue, this shows that this is not some temporary "scheme" that will vanish in near future. USCIS has and will continue to make serious commitments to the improvement of RC EB-5 Program.
